Our sister journal ChemElectroChem is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. We asked our readers to match six cover pictures of the journal with the correct article titles in the ChemElectroChem Anniversary Brain Teaser quiz. Many of you played the quiz at EuChemS in Dublin and, of course, even more online, and we are very happy about the positive feedback.
We together with the journal ChemElectroChem are also happy to announce our three winners of book vouchers.
ChemElectroChem is a fully open-access journal covering all areas of electrochemistry, including energy storage, photoelectrochemistry, organic electrosynthesis, and electroanalysis. Since its launch, the journal has published over 40 special issues and collections on key research topics and notable contributors, under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Rosalba A. Rincón since 2023. The journal, like ChemistryViews, is owned by Chemistry Europe.
The Winners
Ibrahim Abdellah is a junior professor at the University of Lorraine in France, with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and catalysis. His research interests include photocatalysis, electrosynthesis, catalysis, and CO2 valorization.
When we asked him what fascinates him most about chemistry, he replied, “Photocatalytic reactions transforming.”
Rasaq Ayinde Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and is currently persuing a Ph.D. in physical chemistry, focussing on Parahydrogen Induced Polarization (PHIP), a technique that significantly enhances the sensitivity of NMR signals. “My journey in science began with a curiosity about how things work at the molecular level, which led me to pursue a career in chemistry.”, he said.
He added: “I encourage young scientists to remain curious and persistent in their research endeavors. The journey of scientific discovery is challenging but incredibly rewarding, and our contributions can have a profound impact on society.”
Valtteri Oksanen is a researcher in organic electrosynthesis at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and is currently in his first year of Ph.D. studies. His primary interest lies in applying electrochemistry to synthesize chemical products and intermediates sourced from sustainable raw materials such as CO2 or biomass.
He told us “I entered the competition when visiting the Wiley stand during the 9th EuChemS Chemistry Congress in Dublin, and as a researcher working in the field of electrosynthesis I was intrigued to see how well I could match the cover features to the article titles.”
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who took part in the quiz!
