Brief history of the person and the house

Giulio Natta was born in the house to his father, Francesco Maria, a judge, and his mother, Elena Crespi, who was already a widow of a renowned English doctor with whom she had a daughter [2].

 

What are Giulio Natta known for?

Giulio Natta is best known for the development of isotactic polypropylene, a breakthrough in creating structured polymers with consistent molecular configurations. His work, in collaboration with Karl Ziegler (1898–1973), led to the development of Ziegler-Natta catalysts, which revolutionized the production of various plastics by enabling the creation of highly regular polymer structures. For this achievement, Natta was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1963 alongside Ziegler.
