Volunteer engagement is a cornerstone of our society, supporting, for example, the functioning of associations and clubs while fostering community, knowledge exchange, and innovation. This is also true for chemical societies such as the German Chemical Society (GDCh).
Tom Kinzel, who became the new Managing Director of GDCh on August 1, 2024, sees volunteering not only as a means of recognition and gratitude but also as an opportunity for involvement, personal development, and networking. Volunteers actively shape the future of chemistry, gaining new skills in teamwork and project management while building valuable connections in science and industry.
The GDCh office is committed to improving conditions for volunteers to make their work more effective and enjoyable. The vision is to make volunteering even more attractive, ensuring it provides both significant contributions to the community and personal benefits for those involved. To achieve this, the aim is to enhance both support and recognition.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who contributes to the GDCh and makes the most of the opportunities available. And, of course, all members are invited to participate and enjoy the rewards of volunteer work.
- Ehrenamt: mehr als nur ein Dankeschön,
