Wiley and Alchemie have partnered to create tools that enable blind and low-vision students to engage with online chemistry courses independently without the help of third persons.
Integrated into Wiley’s Knewton Alta courseware, these tools provide accessible navigation and screen-reading compatibility, eliminating the need for outside assistance. Until now, blind students have struggled to use online visualization tools, often requiring tutors to complete assignments. Alchemie’s tools aim to bridge this gap, allowing greater inclusion and flexibility for learners with disabilities.
Wiley aims to expand these features across additional STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses.
