The chemist we are looking for this time was known for their work in the field of organic chemistry and phytomedicine, especially in the areas of (vinca) alkaloids, terpenoids, and coumarins, and published a lot on medicinal plants of the Indian subcontinent.

Our scientist managed to overcome many hurdles during their education and later in research. They had to invest their own money to send samples abroad for analysis because, at that time, there was no funding for it in their own country, and they struggled to obtain the necessary chemicals for their research.
