Composition of the Nobel Prize Medals
Since 1901, the Nobel Prizes have been awarded on December 10. This is the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, the namesake and benefactor of this award.
The Swedish industrialist Alfred Nobel decreed that a foundation should be set up with his fortune after his death. The resulting interest was to serve as prize money.
