The Karlsruhe Institut of Technology (KIT) and the BASF SE will in the future develop new battery materials together at the KIT.
Today Professor Eberhard Umbach, president of KIT (left), and Dr. Andreas Kreimeyer, member of the executive committee of the BASF SE, signed the contract for the laboratory. The work of the community laboratory BELLA (Batteries and Electrochemistry Laboratory) links the electro-chemical know-how of the BASF in industrial applications with the results of the basic research of the KIT. A goal is a faster conversion of the research results to products for high-energy battery systems.
