Dow Jones Sustainability Indices Review 2015

Author: ChemistryViews.org

The results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Index Review (DJSI) have been announced today. The DJSI World is a global index which tracks the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide based on an analysis of financially material economic, environmental, and social factors. Each year over 3,000 companies are invited to participate in S&P Dow Jones Indices’/RobecoSAM’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment.

The DJSI follows a best-in-class approach, including companies across all industries that outperform their peers in numerous sustainability metrics. The DJSI aims to allow the creation of portfolios of companies that fulfill certain sustainability criteria better than the majority of their peers within a given industry.

This year’s DJSI World includes 317 components. The industry group that improved the most compared to last year was electronic equipment, instruments, and components, while the oil and gas industry’s performance dropped the most compared to 2014.
