Uhde Inventa-Fischer AG has won a turnkey contract to build the world’s first commercial-scale plant for production of Nofia™. Nofia™ copolymers are polyphosphonate-co-carbonates. A range of compositions can be produced from high to low phosphonate content. They are ecofriendly, halogen-free, transparent and inherently flame-resistant, making them highly suited for use in the building, transportation, as well as in the electronic and electrical industries.
The plant, a subsidiary of FRX Polymers, Inc., will be located in Antwerp, Belgium. It will use FRX Polymers’ proprietary, patented polycondensation process.
