BASF has received the French Pierre Potier Prize for an efficient large scale process by which aluminium MOFs are manufactured using only water and no organic solvents. Created seven years ago by the two French chemical associations “Fédération Française pour les sciences de la Chimie (FFC)“ und “l’Union des Industries Chimiques (UIC)“, the award is presented to companies for chemical innovations supporting sustainable development.
BASF uses these MOFs for highly efficient storage of natural gas in gas powered vehicles.
