Neste tests automated shopping and robotized refueling at their pilot filling station in Siltamäki, Vantaa, Finland. The Neste Easy Deli shop at Siltamäki Neste Express filling station offers customers handy grab-and-go snacks, fresh groceries, and car-related products such as glass washing liquid. The shop is open 24 hours a day every day of the year.

A robot refueling system will be tested with a selected test team at the Siltamäki station. A robot arm refills the tank without any human help. This is a rarity internationally. To use the system, customers will need a chip installed in the car. This will allow the system to identify the make of the car and the recommended fuel for it. Already, customers can pay for fuel at Neste stations using their mobile phone, so that in the future, refueling will be possible without the customer leaving the car.

On the experience gained, Neste will decide next year on a possible expansion of the concept. However, they also say that they will still have service stations with staff in the future.
