Testing for arsenic exposure commonly involves assaying for a whole range of arsenic-containing ions, including arsenite (As(III)), arsenate (As(V)), monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), trimethylarsine oxide (TMAO), arsenobetaine (AB), and arsenocholine (AC).
A certified reference material (CRM) has now been reported that contains a panel of arsenic species in urine. The CRM can be used to validate analytical instrumentation and assays and to provide quality assurance of assessment measurements in a variety of situations including environmental, health and forensics.
