The 6th EuCheMS Chemistry Congress will take place in Seville, Spain, from September 11–15, 2016. Its program will cover a broad spectrum of chemistry, and the speakers will include four Nobel Laureates. To mark this occasion, Angewandte Chemie will publish a special issue containing contributions from the speakers and European authors.
The issue is introduced with an editorial by Luis A. Oro. Oro, who was President of EuCheMS from 2008 to 2011, introduces the congress series, which is co-organized biennially by national chemical societies. He explains the role of EuCheMS, which was founded with the aim of creating a European platform for scientific discussion.
Oro also introduces ChemPubSoc Europe, which is an organization of 16 European chemical societies from 15 countries that publishes a range of high-quality journals and the ChemViews Magazine. The EuCheMS congresses and ChemPubSoc Europe journals have made a major contribution to European chemistry, which will be showcased in Seville in September.
