In this issue, the 2015 Nobel laureates in chemistry deliver first-hand accounts of their discoveries and lives: Paul Modrich on mechanisms in DNA mismatch repair, Aziz Sancar on mechanisms of DNA repair by photolyase and excision nuclease, and Tomas Lindahl on the intrinsic fragility of DNA.
In the Communications section, A. Hinz and J. M. Goicoechea describe the synthesis and reactivity toward heteroallenes of the 2-arsaethynolate anion (see picture). W. Yang et al. succeeded in the integration of nine steps into one membrane reactor for the production of synthesis gases for ammonia and liquid fuel. T. Lee and J. F. Hartwig report on the enantioselective silylation of cyclopropyl C–H bonds.
