The 10th annual competition for young scientists, the Sigma-Aldrich Award, was launched by the company director Daniela Dornerova.

The winners – Lucie Piterková (Negative effect of retrotransposone line-1 on human genome), and Petr Jansa (“Magical” pyrimidines mimicking the biologically active purin analogues) – received grants of 50.000 CZK (approx. 2.000 EUR).
