Angewandte Chemie 25/2015: Selective Chemistry

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, R. A. Fischer et al. review defect-engineered metal–organic frameworks. How can such coordination network compounds be classified and characterized and what applications are possible? The Highlight deals with water splitting at a wavelength of 600 nm (J. Zhang and X. Wang).

In the Communications section, K. Nozaki et al. present benzene-fused azacorannulenes bearing an internal nitrogen atom (see picture). R. Naaman et al. observed chiral selective chemistry that was induced by natural selection of spin-polarized electrons. F. Zanardi et al. succeeded in the organocatalytic asymmetric eliminative [4+2] cycloaddition of allylidene malonitriles with enals, and A. Villinger et al. synthesized cyclic Group 15 radical cations.
