“Golden” curcumin is the subject of a Review by G. Rimbach et al.—what are the beneficial health properties of curcuminoids? In a Minireview, L. Jiang et al. discuss bio-inspired artificial functional nanochannels. The Highlights deal with aminocatalytic activation (E. Arceo and P. Melchiorre) and boronate crosslinked micelles for drug delivery (B. Wang et al.). In an Editorial, B. Nordén explains how The Molecular Frontiers Foundation aims to capture the interest of young minds.

In the Communications section, U. Rosenthal et al. present theoretical studies of an unusual four-membered metallacycloallene. H. Sasai et al. introduce an enantioselective synthesis of α-alkyliden-γ-butyrolactones. Y. Wada et al. succeeded in stacking layered titanium and tungsten oxides modified by alkene and thiol groups, respectively, to a photocatalyst by a click reaction (see picture). J. P. Mackay et al. demonstrate the use of zinc fingers from the splicing factors ZRANB2 and RBM5 as potential modules for the assembly of sequence-specific RNA-binding molecules.
