Ramón Martínez-Máñez (right), Universitat Polytèchnica de València, Spain, and Thomas Wirth, Cardiff University, UK, both co-chairmen of ChemistryOpen‘s Editorial Advisory Board, discuss their expectations of this new ChemPubSoc Europe journal. ChemistryOpen as a gold-road open-access journal will fill a gap that currently exists between the traditional model of subscription-based scientific publications and no (or minimal) fee open-access models, where the main concern is the disparity in quality.
Knowing that numerous European Chemical Societies support the development of ChemistryOpen, they think it is a distinctive project and are excited about the possibility to contribute to this remarkable and unique project.
And they conclude with an affirmative statement regarding the benefits of an article being open access: “easy sharing with the whole scientific community”.
