The DECHEMA student prizes were presented by Hans Jürgen Wernicke, DECHEMA Chairman, at the opening ceremony of the 8th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE-8) in Berlin, Germany, on 25 September 2011. DECHEMA annully awards two prizes in the disciplines of technical chemistry, process engineering, and biotechnology, to graduates who have distinguished themselves by completing their studies in a particularly short time and have achieved outstanding results.

The awards include a two-year membership of DECHEMA, invitation to the award-winners’ colloquium of the Max-Buchner-Forschungsstiftung and its gala evening, invitation to two conferences organized by DECHEMA in Germany or abroad, and travel costs.

This year the winners are Björn Reinhard, University of Leipzig, Claudia Hoffmann, Technical University Dresden, Jan-Hendrik Redmann, University of Hamburg, Anna Christina Schuch, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and Ilka Wagner, Technical University of Berlin, all Germany.
