The chemist we are looking for has something to do with spices in the broadest sense. Our chemist worked for August Wilhelm von Hofmann at the University of Berlin, Germany, and founded a company, that was based on a discovery our chemist had made together with a friend and colleague at Hofmann’s lab. Later this company was bought by Bayer AG, Leverkusen, Germany, and today it belongs to Symrise AG, Holzminden, Germany.
