In this issue, B. Akgun and D. G. Hall review the use of boronic acids as bioorthogonal probes for site-selective labeling of proteins. What strategies are involved, how can they be applied to cross-coupling and other bond-forming reactions? In a Minireview, P. Wedi and M. van Gemmeren summarize the arene-limited nondirected C–H activation of arenes. The Highlight deals with the room-temperature preparation of sulfur polymers (P. Theato et al.).

In the Communications section, N. M. Khashab et al. describe Lewis acid guests in a {P8W48} polyoxotungstate host, and its proton conductivity (see picture). H. Wang et al. succeeded in the decarboxylative Negishi coupling of redox-active aliphatic esters by cobalt catalysis. R. Welsch established low-temperature thermal rate constants for the formation of water from H2 and OH in rigorous quantum dynamics calculations. J. R. DeBackere and G. J. Schroblingen obtained a square-antiprismatic homoleptic KrF2 complex with Hg2+ as the central ion.
