Angewandte Chemie 12/2018: Exchanges

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, M. Reid et al. review C–H functionalization for hydrogen isotope exchange. Are chemists spoilt for choice here? In a Minireview, M. J. Krische et al. discuss ruthenium(0)-catalyzed cycloadditions of 1,2-diols, ketols, or diones via hydrogen transfer. The Highlight deals with the imaging of nano–bio interactions in the kidney (J. Wang, G. Liu).

In the Communications section, D. Shukla et al. explain the universality of the sodium ion binding mechanism in G-protein-coupled receptors (see picture). B. F. Sels et al. report a catalytic gas-phase production of lactide from renewable alkyl lactates. M. Grzelczak et al. succeeded in the reversible clustering of gold nanoparticles under confinement, and M. Zweckstetter et al. elucidated the binding mode of a tau peptide with tubulin by NMR spectroscopy.
