BioMed X Launches Call to Support U.S. Scientists Facing NIH Funding Loss

Author: ChemistryViews

BioMed X has opened applications for the 2025 XBridge Program, its global crowdsourcing platform, aiming to support U.S.-based biomedical researchers who have lost or are at risk of losing NIH funding, helping them find alternative project sponsors within the global pharmaceutical industry. BioMed X is an independent research institute with sites in Heidelberg, Germany, New Haven, CT, USA, XSeed Labs in Ridgefield, CT, and a worldwide network of partner locations. Up to ten research groups will be selected to conduct fully funded, independent research for up to five years, focusing on human disease biology, therapeutic target discovery, or new treatment strategies.

Selected applicants will receive access to advanced wet lab and computational facilities, as well as access to neighboring academic core facilities in Heidelberg and New Haven. Proposals will be evaluated confidentially by BioMed X’s global pharmaceutical partners. Successful candidates and their lab members will be hosted in Heidelberg or New Haven for up to five years. Applications, including NIH grant proposals, must be submitted by June 29, 2025, via the BioMed X Career Space. Participation is free of charge.
