Angewandte Chemie 46/2023: Sustainable Strategies

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Shelley D. Minteer et al. review concepts and applications of bioelectrocatalytic synthesis. Jie Shu et al. summarize research on materials, electrochemistry, and design strategies toward sustainable metal–iodine batteries. The Minireviews deal with atomic-level compositional and spatial control in materials synthesis (Yusuke Yamauchi et al.), oligomerized fused-ring electron acceptors for efficient and stable organic solar cells (Hui Huang et al.) as well as the engineering of therapeutic and detoxifying enzymes (Freideriki Michailidou).

In the original research section, Min Liu et al. demonstrate the highly efficient decomposition of perfluorocarbons for over 1000 hours via active site regeneration. Peter R. Schreiner et al. succeeded in the on-surface synthesis and real-space visualization of aromatic P3N3. Zoltan Kovacs et al. introduce stereoselective parahydrogen-induced polarization, stereoPHIP (see picture), and Nitin T. Patil et al. describe a chain-walking process in gold catalysis.
