In this issue, Manuel van Gemmeren et al. review preparative-scale applications of C–H activation in medicinal chemistry, and Dewei Zhao et al. summarize the mechanistic understanding of oxidation of tin-based perovskite solar cells. The Minireviews deal with electroreductive cross-electrophile coupling reactions (Youai Qiu et al.), p-type polymers in semitransparent organic photovoltaics (Pei Cheng et al.), as well as fluorogenic and cell-permeable rhodamine dyes for live-cell protein labeling (Lu Wang et al.).
In the original research section, Yao Fu et al. describe a surface-controlled CdS/Ti3C2 MXene Schottky junction for photocatalytic dehydrogenation–reductive amination reactions. Cyrille Boyer et al. designed an oxygen-tolerant photo-RAFT system for protein polymer conjugation, and achieved high bioactivity. Jyotishman Dasgupta et al. present a photocatalytic C–C coupling reaction inside water soluble nanocages (see picture). Sandra Schlögl et al. succeeded in the on-demand activation of transesterification by chemical amplification in dynamic thiol-ene photopolymers.
