In this issue, Rongming Wang et al. review the use of in-situ transmission electron microscopy to study strong metal–support interactions in heterogeneous catalysis. Huan Luo and Junzhi Liu discuss the synthesis, structure, and photophysics of non-alternant nanographenes with N-doped hexagonal pairs. The Minireview deals with catalytic atroposelective synthesis of planar-chiral macrocycles.

In the original research section, Dan Ding et al. present an organic phosphoresence probe with with ultralong lifetime and intrinsic tissue selectivity for tumor imaging and surgery (see picture). Franklin Tao et al. succeeded in a highly selective photocatalytic synthesis of acetic acid at 0–25 °C. Mark R. Crimmin et al. observed a dyotropic rearrangement of an iron–aluminium complex. Chuan-Feng Chen et al. report on self-assembled chiral polymers that exhibit amplified circularly polarized electroluminescence.
