Angewandte Chemie 36/2024: High Energy Density

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Manfred T. Reetz et al. review learnings from protein engineering by deconvolution of multi-mutational variants. The Minireviews deal with electrochemical imaging of precisely defined redox and reactive interfaces (Venkateshkumar Prabhakaran et al.) as well as DNA nanotechnology targeting mitochondria, their subcellular molecular imaging and tailor-made therapeutics (Lele Li et al.).

In the original research section, Guan Wu et al. present interfacially ordered NiCoMoS nanosheet arrays on hierarchical Ti3C2Tx MXene for high-energy-density fiber-shaped supercapacitors with accelerated pseudocapacitive kinetics. Fernando López et al. describe the skeletal and mechanistic diversity in Ir-catalyzed cycloisomerizations of allene-tethered pyrroles and indoles. Cristina Nevado et al. report the synthesis of gold(III) auracycles with C(sp3)–Au(sp2) bonds and the mechanism of the cycloauration step. Rui Cao et al. investigated the pull effect of a hanging zinc(II) on improving the four-electron oxygen reduction selectivity with Co porphyrin (see picture).
