Angewandte Chemie 35/2024: Challenges and Opportunities

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Li-Zhu Wu et al. discuss the photocatalytic cracking of non-biodegradable plastics to chemicals and fuels in a Minireview. Giovanni Preda and Dario Pasini summarize research on one-handed covalent helical ladder polymers. In a Viewpoint Article, Torsten John et al. point out challenges and opportunities in sustainable research for early-career chemists.

In the original research section, Kevin C.-W. Wu et al. describe enhancements of the ionic selectivity and osmotic energy by using an ultrathin Zr-MOF-based heterogeneous membrane with a trilayered continuous porous structure. Yanna NuLi et al. present a facile strategy for the construction of high-performance polymer electrolytes via anion modification and click chemistry for rechargeable magnesium batteries. Xuefeng Wang et al. report stabilizing a coppoborylene by multicenter covalent bonding and its amphoteric reactivity to CO (see picture). Marc Fimm and Fumito Saito succeeded in the enantioselective synthesis of sulfinamides via asymmetric nitrogen transfer from N–H oxaziridines to sulfenamides.
