In this issue, Shameer M. Kondengadan and Binghe Wang review quantative factors in the feasibility analysis of triggers that are sensitive to reactive oxygen species. The Minireviews deal with the regulation of the reaction environment of electrocatalytic CO2 reduction in acids (Bao Yu Xia et al.) as well as the 18F-difluoromethyl group (Véronique Gouverneur et al.). In a Scientific Perspective, Javier Pérez-Ramírez et al. argue that the future of chemical sciences is sustainable.
In the original research section, Babil Menjón et al. use the trifluoromethyl group as a synthon of the CF+ unit in palladium chemistry (see picture). Gideon J. Davies et al. detected sulfoquinovosidase activity in cell lysates using activity-based probes. Ming Joo Koh et al. succeeded in the electrochemical synthesis of C(sp3)-rich amines by aminative carbofunctionalization of carbonyl compounds. Mohamed Eddaoudi et al. present porous organic polymers for efficient and selective SO2 capture from CO2-rich flue gas.
