Angewandte Chemie 23/2024: Direction of Chemistry

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Benjamin M. W. Roberts et al. review molecular ratchets and kinetic asymmetry which give chemistry direction. Ming Ma and Brian Seger discuss the rational design of the local environment for the electrocatalytic conversion of CO2 into multicarbon products.

In the original research section, Jiulin Wang et al. describe interphase engineering via solvent molecule chemistry for stable lithium metal batteries. Thomas F. Prisner et al. determined the structure and internal dynamics of short RNA duplexes by a combination of pulsed EPR methods and MD simulations. Xueqin Liu et al. report that strong interactions between Au nanoparticles and BiVO4 photoanodes boost hole extraction for photoelectrochemical water splitting. Christine Beemelmanns et al. succeeded in the structure revision of a widespread marine sulfonolipid class based on isolation and total synthesis. Dillip Kumar Chand et al. demonstrate cage-to-cage transformations in self-assembled coordination cages by acid/base and guest-induced strain stimuli (see picture).
