Angewandte Chemie 17/2024: Hybrids

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Shanshan Chen et al. review the crystallization kinetics of hybrid perovskite solar cells, and Xiaoyuan Chen et al. summarize metabolic labeling of bacterial peptidoglycans based on D-amino acid derivatives. The Minireviews deal with data processing methods for single-entity electrochemistry (Yi-Lun Ying et al.), zinc ion batteries for grid-scale energy storage (Zaiping Guo et al.), as well as the role of water radical cations as primary oxidizing agents in the spontaneous oxidation on aqueous microdroplets (Lingqi Qiu, R. Graham Cooks).

In the original research section, Cristina Nevado et al. describe an asymmetric, remote C(sp3)–H arylation via a sulfinyl-Smiles rearrangement. Yingdong Duan and Sanzhong Luo succeeded in the phase-transfer catalysis for the electrochemical chlorination and nitration of arenes. Anne Zehnacker et al. observed conformer-selective photoelectron circular dichroism. Alessandro Porchetta et al. engineered toehold switches as input-responsive activators of CRISPR-Cas12a for sensing applications (see picture).
