In this issue, Chuan-Feng Chen et al. review the syntheses and applications of fluorescent macrocyclic arenes. Changle Chen et al. summarize research on functional polyolefins and composites. The Minireview deals with the engineering of two-dimensional nanomaterials for photothermal therapy (Huiyu Liu et al.). Kelly Chibale and co-authors advocate for chemistry as a catalyst for transforming the health and wealth of South Africa in a Viewpoint Article.
In the original research section, Ümit Akbey et al. describe the ultrasensitive characterization of native bacterial biofilms via dynamic nuclear polarization-enhanced solid-state NMR. M. Eugenia Sanz et al. investigated the self-aggregation of alcohol and found the preferred configurations of the ethanol trimer. Charlotte K. Williams et al. established structure–activity relationships for s-block Metal/Co(III) heterodinuclear catalysts in cyclohexene oxide ring-opening copolymerizations. Rui Cao et al. improved the electrocatalytic CO2 reduction over iron tetraphenylporphyrin with triethanolamine as a CO2 shuttle (see picture).
