Angewandte Chemie 10/2025: Super Cool

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Simone Kosol et al. review means to fight antimicrobial resistance. The Minireviews deal with stable luminescent diradicals (Alim Abdurahman et al.) and the Kauzmann paradox, supercooling, and order in chaos (Andrew Martin, Martin Thuo).

In the original research section, Felix Hausch et al. describe conformational plasticity and binding affinity enhancement controlled by linker derivatization in macrocycles. Yumiko Nakajima et al. succeeded in the one-step esterification of phosphoric, phosphonic, and phosphinic acids with organosilicates for the chemical recycling of phosphorus from sewage waste. Magalí Lingenfelder et al. revealed Fe doping of Ni oxide to enhance oxygen evolution via fragmentation and formation of dual active sites. Markus Müllner et al. report the self-assembly of amorphous 2D polymer nanodiscs with tuneable size, pH-responsive degradation and controlled drug release (see picture).
