In this issue, Junjie Li et al. review the computer-aided development of new nonlinear optical materials. The Minireviews deal with high-throughput combinatorial metal complex systems (Angelo Frei et al.), two-dimensional conjugated metal–organic frameworks for photochemical transformations (Huaping Wang et al.) as well as low-dimensional lead-free metal halides for efficient electrically driven light-emitting diodes (Liang-Jin Xu et al.).
In the original research section, André Schäfer et al. present heavy pentaisopropylcyclopentadienyltriylenes and their heterobimetallic complexes. Gemma C. Solomon et al. developed a molecular engineering approach to conformationally regulated conductance dualism in a molecular junction. Cassandra E. Callmann et al. report the glycopolymer-mediated selective separation of middle rare earth elements and Keisuke Suzuki et al. succeeded in the total syntheses of β- and γ-naphthocyclinones (see picture).
