The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2024 will be announced today. This year, we have received 2,045 responses in total, and most of our readers think an American chemist will be honored (49 %), followed by Europe with 29 % and Asia with 19 %. Biochemistry is considered the most likely field of research to be awarded by far (51 %), with materials/polymers coming in at 9 %, organic chemistry at 8 %, and physical chemistry as well as computational/theoretical chemistry at ca. 7 % each.
