Angewandte Chemie 25/2024: Stable and Active

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Hua Gui Yang et al. review in-situ/operando synchrotron radiation analytical techniques for the reduction of CO2 to CO. The Minireviews deal with the artistic visualization of the near-symmetry of molecules (Christopher J. Kingsbury, Mathias O. Senge), the role of detergent chemistry in transgressing Earth’s resources (Leonhard H. Urner et al.), as well as the reactivation of inactive lithium in batteries (Renjie Chen et al.).

In the original research section, Huiqiao Li et al. describe the activation and stabilization of a reversible four-electron redox reaction of I/I+ for aqueous zinc–iodine batteries (see picture). Maria Ibáñez et al. unveil crucial chemical processing parameters which influence the performance of solution-processed inorganic thermoelectric materials. Xin Zhang et al. succeeded in the chemical control of fluorescence lifetime towards multiplexing imaging. Eric T. Kool et al. present a selective arylation of RNA 2′-OH groups via an SNAr reaction with trialkylammonium hetercycles.
