The scientist we are looking for this time co-developed several breakthrough drugs, for example, against leukemia, gout, or herpes infections. The techniques they developed were also the basis for the discovery of the anti-HIV/AIDS drug azidothymidine (AZT).

Our chemist never completed a formal Ph.D. degree. Nevertheless, they received very high honors for their groundbreaking work on drug development together with their collaborator and the inventor of the first clinically useful β-blockers.
