ChemViews Magazine looked at the answers of everyone interviewed in 2016, compared them with the results in 2011, and discovered the following trends for successful authors.
Age
The youngest author is Professor Franziska Schoenebeck from the University of Aachen, Germany. Although she was 34 years old at the time of the publication of her interview, she already had more than ten articles published in Angewandte Chemie. Her research focuses on understanding reactivity and mechanisms, designing new catalysts, and the development of applications in organic, bioorganic, and materials chemistry.
The oldest author is Professor Horst Kessler from the Technical University in Munich, Germany. He was 76 years old at the time of the publication of his interview. His research focuses on the rational and combinatorial design and the synthesis of drug candidates for the inhibition of protein-protein interactions.
