In this issue, R. E. P. Winpenny et al. review heterometallic rings. How can they be useful in the study of antiferromagnetism of nanomagnets, and how rich is their chemistry? In a Minireview, J. Streuff and A. Gansäuer discuss the β-functionalization of Michael acceptors through reductive radical additions. The Highlight deals with the asymmetric umpolung of imines (M. Waser and J. Novacek).
In the Communications section, C. R. Bowers et al. show how shaped ceria nanocrystals catalyze para-hydrogen-enhanced polarization (see picture). J. Wang et al. present stable encapsulated air nanobubbles in water, and M. J. Zaworotko et al. succeeded in the direct air capture of CO2 by physisorbent materials. M. Inoue et al. describe a total synthesis of crotophorbolone, which has a 5/7/6-membered ring system.
