Professor Theo Dingermann was awarded the Carl-Mannich-Medal for his excellent contributions toward pharmaceutical sciences. The prize, which was awarded at the Goethe-University, Frankfurt, is the highest honour of the German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG, Deutsche Pharmazeutische Gesellschaft) and is named after a long-serving president of the DPhG.
Among his many other distinctions, Dingerman was Vice President (1996–1999) and President (2000–2003) of the DPhG, he is the author of many textbooks and Editor-in-Chief of the DPhG membership journal „Pharmazie in unserer Zeit“.
His public appearances have significantly raised the image of pharmacists and pharmaceutical sciences.
