Arkema plans to acquire Agiplast, a company with annual sales of around €15 million and 32 employees that is specialized in the regeneration of high-performance polymers and is already Arkema’s partner in the recycling sector. The transaction is expected to close in June 2021.
With this acquisition, Arkema will be the first fully integrated manufacturer of high-performance polymers offering both bio-based and recycled materials. Arkema had launched Virtucycle® in October 2019 together with Agiplast, an ambitious program aimed at developing loops for the collection and regeneration of high-performance polymers while minimizing CO2 emissions.
