The European Union Hydrogen Strategy outlines an infrastructure roadmap for the widespread use of hydrogen in Europe by 2030. To support the drive towards a carbon-free future, INEOS announced that it is creating a new company to develop and build clean hydrogen capacity across Europe. INEOS currently produces 300,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year, mainly as a by-product of its chemical manufacturing processes.
The new company will be headquartered in the United Kingdom. Hydrogen production capacity will be sought through the INEOS network of sites in Europe and partner sites where hydrogen can accelerate the decarbonization of energy.
