The ZGC InnoHub (Zhongguancun German Innovation Center) was inaugurated last week in Heidelberg, Germany. The Zhongguancun Development Group wants to support German and Chinese companies, educational institutions, and, above all, start-ups in the fields of life sciences, information technology, and smart manufacturing. The aim is to help start-ups with their international market entry and to combine renowned science centers from both countries with high-tech-based companies to form a unique German-Chinese start-up, development and innovation center. The Zhongguancun Development Group already operates similar facilities in Silicon Valley and Boston, both USA.
The Zhongguancun Development Group is located in the Zhongguancun district in Haidian District, northwest of Beijing. The district is considered the Silicon Valley of China because companies such as Lenovo, Baidu, and Tencent were founded there. Zhongguancun is China’s reform pilot area that supports scientific and technological innovation and the development of emerging industries. Zhongguancun Development Group has emerged with the development of China’s innovation and development strategy and the development of Zhongguancun.
