How to Enter the Picture Competition
1. Picture Submission
- Contestants can submit one or more pictures.
- Submissions will be accepted beginning May 1, 2013 00:01 am GMT through July 28, 2013 00:00 pm GMT.
- Submission of a picture signifies agreement to the Terms of Use.
- The picture will be uploaded to ChemistryViews.org
2. Voting
- Use the like button in the picture galery and/or leave a comment to vote pictures.
- You are not required to submit a picture in order to vote or comment.
- All likes and comments submitted by August 28, 2013 00:00 pm GMT will determine which picture wins the book prize for receiving most votes.
3. Judging
- Winners will be determined by the panel of judges listed below, all experts in the field. They will select twelve winners from all submitted pictures after submission closed on July 28, 2013.
- Criteria for the jury are: i) creativity and original ideas, ii) clear message, iii) quality of the picture, iv) scientific relevance
- Winning pictures will be announced online and at the Wissenschaftsforum 2013 on September 1, 2013 and will be featured on the ChemistryViews.org website. Winners will be notified by e-mail a few days in advance.

4. Prizes
The following winners will be selected:
- First Prize (125 Euro and books for up to 125 Euro from the blue&white or For Dummies brand)
- Second to Twelved Prize (125 Euro and books for up to 79 Euro from the blue&white or For Dummies brand)
- Picture receiving most likes: Book prize: Molecules That Changed The World by K. C. Nicolaou and T. Montagnon
Winners will be notified by e-mail.
5. Terms and Conditions
- Participants of the Picture Competition – A Year in the Lab: The Chemist’s View agree to the Terms of Use.
- Entrants may only submit their own original works.
- Submissions will be accepted May 1, 2013 00:01 am GMT through July 28, 2013 00:00 pm GMT.
- Wiley and GDCh employees and their family members may participate, but are ineligible to win.
- All submitted pictures are subject to approval and may not be accepted if they are found to be offensive or in violation of copyright. See “Acceptable Site Use” in Terms of Use.
- Wiley-VCH and GDCh reserve the right to use submitted pictures on the ChemistryViews.org website and in other promotions, including but not limited to the GDCh and Wiley-VCH webpages.
